got my order of foundi-stay in neutral medium light and the color suits my skin tone...i have fair skin and it really last longer compared to my former brand. It's lightweight, feels like i'm not wearing make-up at all. I'm glad i tried this mineral make-up.

I also like the blush--the peach color, it gives my face a natural healthy radiant look, it's perfect during daytime. I will place my order again soon.

I love this product. This is the only foundation that worked for me. When I first tried it, I used it on the left side of my face and then used Beauty Bar’s rice powder on the right. With just a few applications (and I really mean FEW), my pores were covered already. I had to use more of Beauty Bar’s rice powder but after 30 minutes, the right side of my face already was oily-shiny while the left stayed as it was originally, considering that I have a really oily face. What I love about it pa is that it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing makeup at all. Super natural. Talk about magic!

you will soon get the hang of it.. at first it may seem messy to use mineral makeup, or any loose powder for that matter. gentle tapping lang siguro dapat so that enough powder will come out of the sifter jar
Please remember the sample shade that you got ;)

biancasvalerio wrote on Aug 10, '09, edited on Aug 10, '09
I've been a fan of Bare Escentuals, as I've shared with Ms Lami. So when I discovered BN, I just had to try out their foundations to compare as no one wants to spend so much for make-up. Achieving a flawless face should never have to be a burden to spend on!
I'm sure some of you may be new to mineral make-up and don't know how to start or how to use these make-up types?
Let me share my thoughts on BN's foundations:
Firstly, for reference, I use NC 30/35 shades for MAC Studiofix or Y754 for Shu's Face Architect.
BN's CLASSIC MINERAL FOUNDISTAY leaves a fresh and matte finish :-) I use the Light Medium all over my face then the Light shade to top the the undereyes, eye lids, cheekbones, chin and bridge of my nose. Our face is comprised of multiple shades as it's an uneven surface. That's why finding the perfect shade that falls in between all those micro shades can be daunting. So I usually use two shades.
--- It's best to use the darker shade over our dark circles, etc, before the lighter shade for two reasons:
1. You don't end up with light raccoon eyes that actually only bring more attention to the spots you're hiding.
2. This way, since you've already somewhat concealed the problem area with the darker shade, you can control how much lighter shade you need to use, to blend in flawlessly with the rest of you face.

The powder is very fine so you make-up won't look cake-y at all. It has the right amount of yellow that flatters Asian skin tone. It really can compete with Bare Escentuals, no doubt :-)

Now for the PREMIUM GLOW: I hold up the highest of banners for this product as it delivers such seamless results!

Although, when choosing a shade for PGlow, take note of these pointers:
1. Because PGlow has a slight sheen/shimmer to it, it will appear lighter on your skin and most especially in pictures. The shimmer in PGlow, REFLECTS light, while the Foundistay ABSORBS light. Thus, Foundistay shades are true to your own skintone. PGlow, levels up by a shade or two, upon application.
2. So now, as compared to Foundistay, I use PGlow's MEDIUM all over my face and LIGHT MEDIUM on the inner areas as I've explained earlier. The DARK MEDIUM is even okay to be used to substitute the Medium because, since the slight sheen reflects light, our face tends to look bigger. With a darker shade, it has some contouring properties in it to flatter the outer edges of your face.
3. True the slight sheen is phenomenal for one's complexion as it minimizes the look of skin flaws. BUT if you have a more plump or round face, I highly suggest you only place PGlow on your cheekbones, nose bridge, small area of your forehead above your nose and then, your chin. Basically areas where light hits. This'll make these features pop out.
Then for the areas you want to recede, I suggest, Foundistay since it has a matte finish. It's best to MIX Foundistay AND PGlow on specific areas of your face to make give much dimension. Or else, it has the tendency to look flat.
4. I've recently used PGlow to highlight and Foundistay to contour a guy for a men's fashion shoot to shape his abs, tone his arms even more and chisel his face to perfection! Just by playing with shimmer and matte formulations, the results are limitless for both men and women :-)

In conclusion, everything I've shared are just tips from my own preferential usage on myself and for shoots/shows. My tips are just extra add ons to your own experiences to make your face look more 3-dimensional and amazing in photos :-) They're not a must as you can use them however you wish.
Hope that helped, enjoy shopping!

Hi Lami! This is Mai Ong, mommy of Kito from autismpinoy.
I currently use Bare Escentuals Bareminerals Foundation (Light). I sure do have a yellow undertone/complexion.
What is the shade of Barenaturals you have that is closest to this shade im using? I am not sure what is the difference between the 3 variants you have, basta I like yung walang shiny effect sa skin kase i have combination/oily T-Zone skin.
I'll wait for your reply, then I;ll fill up na the order form. =)
Thanks in advance!

Ms. Lami, I love the Therapeutic Skin Perfecting mineral foundation! Also, i finally found my skintone, Golden Neutral. My shade should actually be Golden Neutral Light Medium but since I have an acidic skin I have to use 1 tone lighter which is Golden neutral light. Mind you, it's the perfect shade for me! XD

I really love using this. Right now, this is the perfect formulation that I had been looking for in a foundation. It doesn't look muddy after sweating, mind you I sweat a lot in my face. It is truly hypoallergenic - I have sensitive, oily, acidic and acne prone skin. Even if the oiliness of my face kicks in, this makeup stays put. I just need to use an oil control film and viola! I'm ready to go again. I don't need to retouch that much because the foundation really stays for 8 hours. It doesn't even feel like I have make-up on and doesn't look like I have a made up face. My officemates think it's just my natural skin but no, they are so wrong. Also, it helps heal my pimples a lot a faster. For this kind of quality, this product is a steal! XD

When in doubt, we can help help you determine your right shade. You may email us your picture, barenaturals@gmail.com.

- I sent you an email and I haven't received any reply yet... this is not the first time that you ignored my emails and inquiries. I have been a loyal customer for a year now and I have to say that I am no longer happy with your service for quite sometime now. I am seriously considering to switch to another MMU brand.

Hi! Im so happy I came across your website! I never knew that there are mineral makeup available locally. I am looking for a mineral powder foundation that I can use to set my liquid foundation and something that I can also use on bare skin during weekends. I have extremely sensitive and acne-prone skin, and also very oily, in fact I've got blemishes and a few cystic pimples on my face. My derma encourages me to stick to the acne medication that she recommended (tea tree soap and a retinoid gel) and told me to be careful with using makeup. Do you have something that you can recommend? Possibly something which does not contain bismuth oxychloride, talc, and mica. I read that these ingredients clog the pores and are bad for acne-prone skin! The PREMIUM GLOW mineral foundation and Therapeutic Skin Perfecting mineral foundation sound good. Could you tell me the ingredients found on these mineral foundation please? Thanks very much and more power!
barenaturals wrote on Aug 20, '10
sorry for the late reply... (hope this isnt too late to answer ur concerns).
We actually tried minimizing irritating ingredients in our makeup: no bismuth oxychloride, no boron nitride, no talc. sorry to inform you.. yes we contain mica (and most if not all the other brands of mineral makeup)
to be honest, mica or sericite is quite staple in most mineral makeups, it would normally make up sometimes up to 80+% of the powder. Substitute for makeup would be "organic" stuff (note, by organic, this would mean bacteria can thrive more if the product has been used inappropriately, well as with any makeup i suppose)

mica substitute would be: rice (oryza sativa), and cornstarch (zea mays) normally. Notice that once they use scientific name, people get better impression of the product already, hehe. Hard to put "rice powder" and "corsntarch" as ingredient.

Our makeup ingredients: sericite mica, titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, magnesium Stearate, iron oxides, ronasphere, silica microsphere (some contain kaolin)

what made you say you have allergy to mica?
